It's not uncommon for me to get so caught up in what needs to be done that I lose track of beloved pet projects...
A couple of years ago, prompted by a request from a client who was looking for unique wrist-wear, I started what I lovingly called my Henna Series; leather wristbands inspired by mehndi, that glorious art of drawing on the body with henna-based dyes.
Alas, after making a few and having them very well-received, I got busy with necessary tasks and let the collection dwindle and vanish.
The time has come again to renew the series.
Creating these is a meditative experience; each design is built one bit at a time, making each piece a one-of-a-kind work of art.
There is something very satisfying about working on pet projects! :-)
With a great deal of reverence and respect for the tradition that inspired me, I've posted several new cuff bracelets to my Etsy shop.
You can find them here.
